Chocolate Pot de Creme

Ingredients

Custard Cream:

  • 2 1/8 cups heavy cream
  • 3/8 cup 2 percent milk
  • 5 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • dash of vanilla powder or vanilla
  • 7 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Directions

Step 1

  • Simmer the milk and heavy cream.

Step 2

  • Remove from heat and add the chocolate and vanilla powder or vanilla.

Step 3

  • Separately whisk the egg yolks and brown sugar. Combine with the chocolate mixture.

Step 4

  • Divide into 6 ramekins and set in pan. Fill water around cups to halfway up sides.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes.
